I recall many years ago looking through a scrapbook that my grandmother had made. Her sense of humor came shining through every single page of that scrapbook. One of the stories that I found most interesting was a newspaper article in the local paper about my grandfather. He was the “Featured Farmer of the Week” or something like that. During the course of the interview with the reporter, he mentioned that the secret of a happy life was having children. He talked about what an inspiration his 4 boys were. (At no point did he mention my grandmother and all that she had contributed to his success…which prompted her to write something like, “Where does he think he got those 4 boys, the 5 and dime?!”) I still chuckle about that comment she wrote. I’m guessing he got an earful and had to say a big “oops” to her after that!
What prompted this trip down memory lane? A stamp of course!
I think this is an amazing stamp set! It’s vintage feel and great sentiments and quotes are really quite versatile. They fit beautifully in several of the punches and framelits that Stampin’ Up! offers.
