This is the story of the Mixed Borders stamp set and the Paper Craft Crew Color Challenge. It’s not a long story really. It’s the story we all live. You get busy and you don’t take the time for yourself. No downtime means no crafting. When you finally sit down to take some time for yourself and let your creativity flow, you make a bunch of stuff in a short amount of time!
Today, I sat down to create a card for the Paper Craft Crew Color Challenge for the week and made 3 cards in a flash! I pulled the mixed borders stamp set off my shelf and just felt totally inspired!
I really wanted to make some clean and simple cards using the colors from the challenge. I wasn’t in the mood for crazy layers and tons of embellishments. Today was about keeping it simple!
This one I made from some practice stamping with the layering border stamps. I like to experiment and this was definitely an experiment! I added the embossing at the end and I like how the embossing folder coordinates with the border flowers.
I really liked this card. I stamped the same border stamp 5 times (made easy by the fact that these are photopolymer stamps). Adding a sentiment and some embellishments was just what the card needed! I love the circle layer framelits. They just make layering sentiments and stamped images so easy. The little scallop border adds a nice touch as well.
Here is a closer view of the other cards:
The last card was a fun one. There are two stamps that create a 2 step border and they layer beautifully together.
Don’t you love this thick baker’s twine? Twine is an inexpensive embellishment that always seems to add the little something extra, without adding a lot of bulk to the project.
Here is the color challenge from the Paper Craft Crew this week. You can see that I combined the colors in a couple different ways. All of the cards are quick and easy.
