3 Cards From CP’s Stamp Of Approval

By | 01/13/2019

Every 3 months, Catherine Pooler releases a new Stamp of Approval set.  These are stamps and dies designed to coordinate so that you can mix and match them with each other, taking the guesswork out of what goes with what.

This quarter’s SOA is called the Adoring You Collection.  I’ve pulled out some other stamp sets to pair with these as well that I have purchased through CP’s previous releases.

The Adoring You Collection is a fun one.

My favorite stamp set in the collection is the Sweet Home Wreath set.  Stamping Imperfection Ink Splatter

I love that I’ve only used a small part of this stamp set!  I have so much more to play with.  The sentiment is from another stamp in the collection called Happy Together.  This is one of my all-time favorite sentiments.  It has a coordinating die and I’ve given this lots of dimension with craft foam and I also added interest by embossing it with clear embossing powder to give it a high gloss shine!

This is actually going to be the card that I send to my mother for her birthday in a couple of weeks.

I stamped the grapevine wreath in CP’s Icing on The Cake ink.  Then I used the Eucalyptus, Spruce and Peppermint Scrub inks for the leaves and branches.  I die cut those with the coordinating dies which are sold as a separate bundle add-on to the SOA stamp collection.

I also added some splatters of the Icing on the Cake and Sauna inks. The sequins are from CP’s Inspiration Point Sequin Mix from a previous release.  I’ve topped the berries off with some Glossy Accents to make them shiny as well.

My next two cards use the Love Note Background Stamp from the collection.  I LOVE this background stamp.  I already see myself using this on a number of projects.

I think it will be fantastic with fairy stamps and mermaids!

I think you can see that I was craving color here!

I stamped the background stamp in Versa Mark ink and then heat embossed it in white.  I used the Peppermint Scrub ink, the Aquatini, and the Tiara inks to create the rainbow blends.  I LOVE how these inks blend.  You can see a hint of purple, green and orange from where they blended together.  You can also see that there are no circle lines that didn’t blend out.  These are amazing inks for blending.Stamping Imperfection Love Note Background Techniques

The balloons and the sentiment were created on a piece of watercolor paper that I added water to with a paintbrush and then dropped on the 3 colors I used in the card front.  I let it dry, stamped them and heat embossed in black.  Then I die cut them.  These images came from the Birthday Icons stamp set that was released from CP about a month or so ago.

I sort of wish that I had made them just white or a single color on that super colorful background.  It’s a lot of color without a lot of contrast.  It was fun to play with different techniques though.

I have added some Studio Katia iridescent drops for fun as well.

My final card uses the same Love Note background stamp, but this time I used Versa Mark ink on the craft card stock to get a watercolor affect.  I love doing this with a background stamp because it is so subtle.

I used the happy birthday sentiment s from the Spot On stamp set that is a former SOA release.  I stamped the round happy in Aquatini and added that clear embossing over the top to make it super glossy.  The birthday is heat embossed in white on black card stock.  The patterned paper is from Sunny Studio Stamps recent spring release 6 x 6″ paper stacks.

The sequins on this card are the Green Mountains sequin mix that was released as an add-on for this Adoring You Stamp of Approval Collection.

I still have so much more to play with in this collection!  I will be sharing more later this week!

Hi Kim! Love these cards. I have my eye on the CP wreath stamp set. I am hoping it goes into her shop to purchase separately. Great job as always!
