Have you fallen in love with the trendy black and white cards with pops of color yet?
I saw a fun background stamp called Scribbled Rose from Taylored Expressions. This had an outline background red rubber cling stamp with a set of clear stamps meant to fill in the roses and leaves when you stamped the background.
I decided to use them in a different way today!
I love this background stamp! I haven’t even used it in the way they intended it to be used! I love the doodle feel. I’m a doodler and it so relaxes me that just looking at doodle images relaxes me!
I also love that the inside color part has an almost watercolor look. Here I used Catherine Poolers Be Mine, Bellini, and Garden Party inks for the florals and her Midnight Black for the rest.
I also used Altenew’s Create-a-Wreath die to create the oval and the black frame, as well as the leaves. The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions Big Hello stamp set which I got free with a qualifying order.
I used this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch for my layout.
Since the die cuts out the oval and a frame, I cut once in black and once in white. This left me with an extra frame and oval so I made a second card.
Since I was stamping on to black card stock, I stamped my images in StazOn White ink first. The ink just soaked in, so I decided to experiment with some Nuvo Glitter Markers that I got in a craft kit. I had a blue, a pink, and a green. I thought the green held it’s color, but the blue and pink color evaporated and left mostly glitter. It’s still pretty! What card doesn’t need a little sparkle?
