Every now and then, do you find that you need a quick card?
Every now and then I like to challenge myself to create a single layer card with lots of white space. The Paper Craft Crew sketch for this week gave me a perfect opportunity to create a card with just a couple of stamps, some ink pads, a piece of card stock, and acrylic blocks.
So simple and so quick! These would be easy to mass produce as well!
Here is the Paper Craft Crew Sketch for this week’s challenge:
Card Recipe:
Card Base: White cardstock cut at 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″, score and fold at 4-1/4″
Inks: Sauna, Icing on the Cake, Mandarin Spice, Spruce
Stamp Sets: Hey Pumpkin, Fresh Cut Flowers stamp set (for the row of yellow dots)
Embellishment: Yellow enamel dots from Altenew

Hi Kim!
I just caught up with your posts. I am impressed with all the different projects you have been crafting. The small journals that you made came out great. I have to try those digital images that you have been coloring. They are just so darn cute. All the areas that you add to them are amazing. Someday I will watch a video as you recommend. Can you clarify something for me?
When a single layer card is mentioned does it mean you use just the card base or is the single layer the panel? I understand that nothing additional is added. I sometimes feel that just the card base ends up being a little flimsy.
Thanks for your info. Hope you and your family are healthy and safe.

Hi Anita!
The journals and albums have been my favorite projects lately!
As far a single layer card, you can do either. You can create your card directly on the card base or you can create it on a front panel and add it to a card base. I usually do the panel when I am watercoloring or using alcohol markers because they would bleed through the card front. If I’m entering a challenge, I will keep my single layer panels to the size of the front of the card. Every challenge had different rules about those things, so if you are entering a challenge just check the rules they have.
Be well!
