This week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge is a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge. You pick 3 features in a row, column or diagonal and create a card with those 3 elements.
I selected the Bundle, Metallic and Favorite Color elements from the first column on the left.
For my bundle, I used two stamp sets from the new Catherine Pooler Designs Stamp of Approval Tropically Yours Collection.
I love the CP background stamps because she attaches them to a heavy weight plastic coated sheet that has 3 holes punched. These could actually be stored in a 3 ring binder. I don’t even remove it from the sturdy backing to use them. I leave the stamp as is and ink it up. I lay my paper down on top of the inked stamp and use a piece of copy paper on top to keep my hands clean as I rub the card stock to get all the areas of the ink transferred from the stamp to the card front.
That CP thinks of everything!
I also absolutely LOVE the sentiments in the Fearless Pursuits stamp set in this collection. I will most definitely be using these for some scrapbook pages.
The background stamp in this collection is an aged linen or fabric background that is just perfect for giving your card a faux textured look.
I stamped this in Altenew’s Evening Grey Crisp Dye Ink and then sponged over it with the very same ink for a really aged look. You can do this with dye inks because they are translucent. When you sponge or blend them over an image, the image will show through.
I then heat embossed this amazing sentiment using Versa Mark ink and Nuvo Copper Blush embossing powder. LOVE this color of embossing powder and that added my metallic element. I also added a 1/2″ strip of copper metallic foil paper from DCWV Patterned Foils Mat Stack.
For my favorite color, I added some fall inspired sequins from Neat & Tangled Jewel Tones Mix. I love the combination of colors in this mix.
I feel like I could give this card to my son or my daughter. The best part is that it was quick and easy.
The hardest part is always where to place those sequins! I try just dropping them on and then using them where they land for an organic feel, but I did fuss with these a little.
