Lil’ Inker Designs Kindess

By | 04/10/2018

I have just been so excited about a couple of stamp sets that I got a while back from Lil’ Inker Designs. I actually purchased 3 stamp sets and two are large sentiments in lettering that I wish I could do by hand. It’s on my to do list to learn how to hand letter like a pro!
This week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge gave me just the excuse that I needed to use one.

Stamping Imperfection Never Regret Being Kind

The florals that I colored with my Altenew Artist Markers are from Catherine Pooler Designs and the latest release.  I adore this Grateful Heart stamp and die set.  It is just beautiful and it is a fairly easy coloring project for a beginner like me.

I did take a lot of liberties with the sketch this week.  It is supposed to have more of a splotched background and I considered doing a watercolor on a white base, but I really wanted to do the white embossed sentiment and the dark colorful florals on that black background.

Instead of the watercolor background, I opted to create a subtle background with a small flower from the Grateful Heart set and stamp it in my Distress Oxide inks.  I just really needed an excuse to use them again!  They stamp beautifully on the black cardstock.

The sentiment is cut out using a circle die and popped up on foam tape.  The florals are popped up on foam dots.  I’ve added some silver metallic thread and some Studio Katia iridescent bubbles that are clear in person, but under the lights look blue and rainbow-like!  I love those bubbles.

I’m going to be honest.  Each week I endeavor to make a clean and simple card with the sketch, but my heart screamed for lots of color on the black background.  The heart wants what the heart wants.

I think this card is just what I needed today!

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Happy crafting and remember to embrace the imperfections!
