I’m collecting stocking stuffers for my “kids” for Christmas. I say kids in quotes because they are both in college, yet they still like to find their stockings stuffed full on Christmas morning. It’s just tradition! That means that I spend the weeks before Christmas searching for those clever little things that they will find useful, without breaking the bank.
A couple of weeks ago I found a package of two (and in my opinion, hideous) emery boards in a clearance bin. They just so happen to be a combination of colors my daughter likes. (They actually match the quilt she made to take to college…which turned out very pretty!) I decided to decorate them with my papers and stamped images to make them seem a little fancier and somehow, a tad more special!
Surprisingly, I like them and I know that my daughter will use these emery boards. I also know that she will like that I took the time to decorate them, no matter how imperfect they are. We all value hand made gifts in our family! When she first went to college, I gave her one of the Stampin’ Up! Card Kits. Didn’t I get a beautiful hand made card from my daughter for my birthday?! She knew how much that hand made card would mean to me.
If you have a college age…what do we call them at this point? They aren’t children, yet they are still our kids, but not quite kids! It’s a dilemma! Stampin’ Up! has a new card making kit. It would make a great stocking stuffer! If you order by December 12, it should be at your door in time for Christmas. Just maybe, you will get a hand made card for one of your special days! Just remember to include stamps with the gift…and maybe, a self-addressed envelope! (It’ll increase your chances of getting a card…but there are no guarantees!)
