Catherine Pooler’s latest release, Flutters and Blooms, is simply beautiful. It’s full of butterflies and florals with some of her prettiest colors used in the papers and embellishments.
The card that I’m sharing today uses her Wings of Joy stamp set which is a giant butterfly and lots of little florals. It’s just a stunner! You can also see the coordinating paper that goes with the images in the set on this card as well.
Catherine Pooler’s patterned papers are single sided papers and they are very thick. It’s good sturdy paper that you can score and fold. I especially like using them for gift boxes and gift bags because I can score them without tearing them.
Her papers and embellishments coordinate with her ink line. I’ve used Shea Butter and Royal Treatment here. You can also see that I only used part of that giant butterfly and the peek you do get allows you to see that there is lots of white space to add glitter or watercolor. It’s a fun image and by itself makes a spectacular card.
The layout is from this week’s Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.
Lots of details on this card! I pulled out some of the new Gold Washi tape from Altenew to use for the dark strips on the card. I’ve also used Catherine Pooler’s new tag die to create the sentiment piece in place of the circle in the sketch. The sequins are also from the new collection. I’ll be playing with this collection for weeks!
This turned out to be a quick and easy card to make. It’s nice to start out with coordinating products and a good sketch. I was in a hurry to get this into the box so my husband could drop it at the post office. Hopefully it will get to my mother-in-law in time for Mother’s Day this weekend. I’m also hopeful that my mother will receive her gift today or tomorrow.
