Single Layer Card With Quick Background Technique

By | 07/13/2021

Welcome friend!  I am so delighted that you stopped by today.  I have a quick and easy single layer card to share with you today using a simple, but lovely background technique.

I’m using the Scrappy Tails Crafts Fairy Friends stamp set to create my card.

CAS Single Layer Card with easy background technique

This card took me less than 10 minutes to put together.  I had the mushroom scene all stamped, colored, and fussy cut from a shaker card project I created yesterday.  (I will share that card and video tomorrow!)

I just couldn’t let that fun mushroom sit in a cup on my desk unused.  This is a single stamp from the Fairy Friends stamp set.  I colored it in with some Copics listed below and fussy cut it out.  There are coordinating dies to go with this stamp set, but alas…my wish list was bigger than my budget and I passed on getting the coordinating dies so I could get a cover plate die that you will see in tomorrow’s video!

You can see the background is soft and subtle, yet lovely.

This was created by taping off the edges of the card front and softly blending Spun Sugar distress oxide ink using a gradient technique to keep it darker at the top and lighter at the bottom.

The fussy cut mushroom scene was popped up on foam and the sentiment was stamped in Color Hive eclipse black ink directly on the card front.

I added 3 red Crown Jewel Gems to finish off the card and add some sparkle!

COPIC COMBINATION:

R 39, 37, 35, 32

E 39, 37, 35, 31

G 99, 94, YG 91

B000

W 5, 3, 1

You don’t have a link to the crown jewel gems you used making this card! I would love to see what more there are to choose from!
