Oh how I love to play with ink!
This month’s challenge for the Challenge YOUrself scrapbook challenge is to get messy!
Of course I wanted to play with some splatter!
I had some scraps from the Flea Market scrapbook collection that I had used for the Crop & Create event over the weekend and decided to use some of the extra scraps up.
I added lots of coordinating color splatter to the background and built my page with the scrap papers sitting on my desk.
There is something so satisfying about creating your own background paper for a layout. I wanted a clean and simple feel with lots of white space and fun colors. I think that I definitely got that!
My photo is from my husband’s grandmother’s 100th birthday celebration. A family event to be sure!
I kept the embellishments simple because I was using several different patterns for my layout. I just couldn’t resist the beautiful vintage florals in this kit. I was happy to have so many left over embellishments. I can always use the embellishments with plain cardstocks now that I’ve used all but one piece of the patterned paper.
I will definitely love pulling the last bits of this kit out to finish it off sometime this month. I have a few more pictures of this event to scrap and I think the vintage papers were just perfect for it!
We would love to have you join us for this month’s challenge. Pull out your favorite messy mediums and get to work. Just make sure YOU are in the photo!
Happy crafting!
