It’s time for this week’s Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!
This one is a frame of sorts and I always find these challenging.
I decided to do a different twist on it than what I usually do with these types of card sketches. This time, I randomly stamped images using Altenew’s Painted Butterflies stamp set in a variety of Altenew inks. Then I cut the panel into the pieces of the frame and applied them to a black card stock mat.
Here is the result:
I ended up really being happy with the outcome. I like this better than trying to die cut out a frame with dies or punches and then stamping below the frame on a piece of card stock.
Plus…these painted butterflies are one of my very favorite Altenew stamp and die sets. It has a coordinating die that I rarely use. I so love this set and you can see how well used it is when you look at it.
I love that I can be imperfect when I stamp that top layer on to the color layer.
Plus…aren’t the colors fantastic? I’ve used Altenew Crisp Dye Inks in Lagoon, Warm Sunshine, Ultraviolet, and Coral Bliss. I’ve also added a spring mix of Studio Katia sequins.
That wonderful sentiment comes from the painted butterfly stamp set. I love the sentiments in this set along with the images.
This card makes me so happy!!!
By the way…I saw a robin this weekend! Spring really is here!
Here is this week’s Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and we would love to have you play along!
