This month’s February Challenge YOUrself theme is a color palette!

I didn’t use all 5 colors in this palette.  I had the December Hip Kit Club kit that I had not had a chance to play with yet and the colors of the papers were perfect for this color challenge!

I used the light pink, minty green, and the coral colors for this layout.  I started by adding some stencil details using a Vicki Boutin stencil with 4 different patterns.  I used some new inks from Concord & 9th in Sorbet, Ballet Slipper and Aqua Sky to add some background details just for fun.

I used lots of layers of papers to add my photos to.  I used a picture of myself in my winter coat getting ready for my morning walk in Florida on Saturday!!  It was 38 degrees Fahrenheit so I found myself wishing for a nice warm hat too.  Luckily, I had my gloves and some nice heavy socks.

I loved all the snowflakes included in the ephemera pack.  I felt like this kit had a little bit of all the things I love on a page!  I had puffy stickers, sentiment strips, chipboard, hearts, tags, labels, and three alphabets!

I have been subscribing to both the main kit and the Pocket Life kit.  I use the pocket kit stuff mainly in my traveler’s notebooks and occasional pocket pages.  I’ve learned that I can fussy cut them, trim them or even use punches and dies on those pocket cards to make them work for what I need.

After layering a few of the papers below my photos, I used one of the pocket cards as the start of my title.  Then I created two ephemera clusters with the snowflakes, hearts, and tags.  I also added a few of the chipboard sentiment strips because I LOVE them!

I loved making this page!  It was fun to play with a color palette this month and what a pretty palette to play with!

When I got the kit, I was thinking that I wasn’t going to really use it because it had been so warm the last couple of months.  Then we got the cold snap and the papers and ephemera seemed perfect to document the drastic change in the weather!  The non-traditional colors for winter made it even better!

We would love to have you join us for this month’s challenge!!

Thank you for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!
