The final scrapbook challenge from Challenge YOUrself for 2021 is an Anything Goes.
I really love this challenge! Making a scrapbook layout that requires using a photo with me in it tends to be a challenge! I finally feel like I’m telling MY story now and not just that of my family. I’m included in the story now and that’s a good thing.
But it is a challenge!!
I used the October Hip Kit Club to create my layout. I also did some stamping on my layout as well.
I love adding stamping to my layouts. I always feel like I’m really using my supplies when I add some stamping!
Some of the details that I added are from stamp sets and add-ons that I got from Elle’s Studio or from Studio Calico.
I have been taking classes and doing virtual events for Scrapbooking for the last couple of years. I’ve also been exploring the new companies and kits that are out there to find out what’s new in the industry. It has been so much fun rediscovering scrapbooking and adding the traveler’s notebook layouts to my hobby. I started out as a scrapbooker and kind of got into stamping and cardmaking along the way.
I love combining all the paper crafting techniques on a scrapbook layout. I also love that I now have time to really pursue this as a full time activity!
For this layout, I used a gorgeous piece of floral paper as my layout base. I used one of Vicki Boutin’s mixed media papers on top of that to create a canvas to build my layout on.
I added 3 ephemera clusters on this page to pull your eye around the page. I also added some stamping to add some texture to the page.
You can also see the wood ephemera details that I’ve added to this layout. I love the different textures you can get with these materials.
This has a fall feel thanks to the colors and ephemera included in the Hip Kit Club Kit. The added wood details add to that fall feel. Natural elements like twine, burlap, or wood tend to work really well on your fall inspired layouts.
You can see I also added some enamel dots. Enamel dots allow you to connect one part of your layout to another to help draw the eye across the page.
I also included some faux stitching with a stamp set that I just added to my stash. I love the faux grid and stitching on the page.
This photo is from a trip we took to San Fransisco many years ago. Our kids spent the week with my parents getting spoiled, while we had some quality time in a beautiful place. It was a surprise trip that my husband planned during one of my vacations from work.
We would love to have you create a scrapbook layout of any size to participate in this month’s challenge with us.
Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a relaxing day!
