Now that I’ve really gotten back into scrapbooking full swing, I decided that it’s time to beef up my stash of some items that I’ve never kept in my stash.
If you saw my last video, you know that I’ve been making my own scrapbook kits out of a few new papers and a lot of older materials from my stash. I’ve been shopping my stash!
I have found it to be a little skimpy in some areas. I don’t have die cuts, puffy stickers, Thickers for phrases or alphabets, and chipboard.
Most of my scrapbooking the last 10 years has been with me creating my own die cuts and doing a lot of stamping and mixed media techniques on my pages. (Seriously…everything looks better with a little ink splatter!)
While I will still create my own stuff, I would like to have some ready made supplies in my stash and in the kits I’m creating.
I decided to try out one companies scrapbook kit club for this month. I was going to try The Scraproom Kit first because it came so highly recommended by my Scrap Happy Family, but it sold out right away. I will try that one next month!
This month, I tried the Hip Kit Club. I ordered the October Main Kit and I wanted to add the embellishment kit but it was sold out as was the pocket page kit. Instead I ordered the embellishment kit and the pocket page kit from September.
I was not disappointed!
I did not have a lot of time to play with the kits yesterday since it was my 35th Anniversary and I had a doctor’s appointment in the morning. I did play with the pocket page kit just to create a quick page for our anniversary!
This Hip Kit Club pocket pages kit came with a nice variety of pocket cards. It also came with a set of Maggie Holmes puffy stickers, a book of stickers that included an alphabet set, it had a set of silver foil alphabet thickers, a set of Pinkfresh Days of Splendor stickers, and enamel dots.
The story prompt for the Layout a Day challenge I’m doing during October was to include swans. I got lucky on this one because there were swan puffy stickers!
Everything I used on this page with the exception of the purple cardstock I put behind the photo and the pocket page itself came from this kit.
I will definitely buy another one of these kits when this one is used up. It was nice to have so many ready made things to use to create a quick and easy page!!
