Getting my craft room together and gradually seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with unpacking has allowed me some actual guilt free time to craft.
I can’t believe how much less stressed I feel just getting a couple hours of time in playing with my stash.
Today I created a card using an old technique and some new stamps and dies.
I love the Ornamental Background stamp. I have so many ideas for using it. I used a sketch I found at Freshly Made Sketches as my inspiration for the layout.
I used Versa Mark ink to get a tone-on-tone background. I think that is one of my favorite background techniques of all. Using the Versa Mark made it pop just a little more than using Garden Green ink on Garden Green paper.
I’ve added some glimmer tape around the edge because I felt like I had left too much of the red and I wanted a little more color. Plus, I love the sparkle.
I used my Stampin’ Blends to create an “ombre” or varigated background before die cutting the Joy from the Winterhaven Wreath die. I love the font of this die. It’s so festive!
The sketch called for a banner across the bottom corner and I couldn’t resist the musical notes from the Here We Come A-Caroling stamp set from the Winterhaven set.
All of the stamps and dies are from Catherine Pooler’s Stamp of Approval set. I’ve truly been enjoying playing with these stamps. I’m going to hate to put them away when the holiday season is over!
I loved the simplicity of this sketch. The cards shared by the design team and the other stampers show that the possibilities are wide open on this one!
Thank you for stopping by! Happy holidays!
